Core Aeration/Over Seeding
Removal of finger like plugs 1.5 to 2+ inches. This increases air pockets that allow more efficient water flow and nutrient uptake to the roots which helps reduce thatch. Areas designated for seeding to be over seeded with fine Fescue blend at a rate of 5lbs. per 1000 square feet. Tennant Lawn Service, Inc. recommends that when over seeding is elected in the spring that step one early spring crabgrass control will be omitted due to interaction with seeds, which will cause seeds not to germinate.

Ornamental Tree and Shrub Care
Our tree and shrub care program will be performed five times throughout the season. Trees and shrubs will be treated for insect and diseases such as Canker Worms, Scale, Bagworms, Mites, Tent Caterpillars, Aphids, Cedar Apple Rust, Apple Scab, Hawthorn Rust, Needle Casts diseases, Quince Rust, etc. to enhance the health and beauty of your landscape plantings. Our applicators will make timely inspections of your property and notify you of any insect and/or disease problems. Landscape Maintenance Landscape Beds

  • Bed Pre-Emergent
    Applied to prevent weed seed germination in all mulched areas.
  • Mulch applications
    re-mulching of tree rings and landscape beds that currently have mulch, will be applied up to 2inch thick overlay with a premium double ground Oak Bark mulch provides an attractive surface. Mulch works as an insulator to maintain a more uniformed soil tempature, it also allows moisture to be held into the soil resulting in reduced need for watering, and prevents weed growth by keeping sun light from weed seeds. Bed edging will be included with mulch application.
  • Bed Edging and Cultivation
    bed edging along with cultivation will prevent mulch from hardening and allows decomposition to soil to maintain a neat and professional appearance. Edging is to prevent grass from growing in mulched areas by using "v" cuts approximately 4 to 6 inches wide.
  • Hand Weeding
    Includes the removal of any weeds in landscaped areas. This will keep you landscape beds looking neat and clean.
  • Post-Emergent (Round Up)
    This is a weed killer that is sprayed in landscape beds, driveway cracks and sidewalk cracks.
  • Ornamental Grasses
    Ornamental grasses need to be cut back about 4 to 6 inches in the spring before growth resumes. Old foliage left on plants can delay the crown's warming and subsequent growth by as much as three weeks.
  • Ground cover
    Ground cover pruning will stimulate new growth on most ground cover by causing buds to break from the base or along the plants stem. Monthly pruning will control ground covers and keep them attractive.
  • Trees
    All trees 8" in diameter, or less will be pruned when dormant, (late fall or winter) to eliminate dead, damaged, and unproductive branches, branches that obstruct walks or roadways, and sucker growth will be removed,
  • Spruces
    to keep your spruces looking uniformed they will be trimmed into the shape of a pyramid.
  • Shrubs and Hedges
    All pruning will be performed to keep a professional, clean, and uniformed appearance.
  • Wood line
    Pruning back wood line will remove overgrowth from encroachments onto property.
